On this day, I’m thankful that I let this little sweetie have two chocolate chip muffins for breakfast.
On the floor.
Because you only live once and muffins with chocolate are good anywhere.
While she was playing with Emily today, Caroline dislocated her elbow.
Or wrist.
Or something.
Still not quite sure, but it hurt like the dickens, I know that much.
While at the urgent care center (because our doctor likes to take an hour and a half for lunch), she was given Motrin.
An hour and a half and one X-ray later she was given Lortab.
Apparently, that’s some hardcore pain meds.
She was still howling and the X-ray was showing no break or fracture.
That chick (read: doctor with a not-so-great beside manner) came in twice and wiggled my girl’s little arm all over the place.
UM. HELLO??!! It hurts!
I was waiting for my girl to kick her in the crotch as she was in the perfect position to do so.
Anyway, I gave her a few choice words and pretty much said, “What the H-E-double hockey sticks do you think is going on if she’s STILL in this much pain after the meds. And who the h-e-double hockey sticks do you think you are rollin’ her arm to and fro?”
Ugh. I was so dang frustrated with the whole situation and it sucks socks to feel like you don’t know anything and are at the mercy of the doctor who is a complete BOOB.
A big ol’ bra-less BOOB!!!
(sorry mom)
So, we left with a splint and a sling and are to wait to see what’s up in the morning and hit up our REAL pediatrician.
Hopefully, it’s just sore because of the bra-less boob.
And? It’s Caroline’s precious “sucking finguhs” hand. So she’s trying to cope WITHOUT her coping mechanism.
Poor kid.
Like I said, I’m glad I let her suck down these two muffins this morning.
Poor little bug! I hope she’s not in so much pain (like, ANY) now.
bless her heart! I hope she gets to feeling better soon!
I am just stalking your blog tonight and I had to comment on this one. I am SO angry for you! And then to later find out that it was broken after all? I would be breaking the doctor’s arm! lol.
