Caroline found this little girl in the driveway yesterday.
“Girl” because her name is KATYdid.
Of course, after that, we had to research and find out what she does…what she eats…what sound she makes…
The girls made Katydid a “home” out of one of my VERY EXPENSIVE Rubbermaid containers.
I say “VERY EXPENSIVE” because it has a lid that clicks closed in a very high dollar way.

They put in a pinecone, two sticks, some rocks, a half-eaten acorn, some grass, some leaves and dirt.
Then today?
Allison thought Katydid needed some water (because she won’t wake up).
So now inside the VERY EXPENSIVE Rubbermaid container?
We have a pinecone, two sticks, some rocks, a half-eaten acorn, some grass, some leaves and MUD.
Despite all of the goodness that is surrounding her?
Katydid refuses to wake up.
Katydids are very tired insects.
