My husband and I recently celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary and we spent a long weekend in The Windy City to celebrate. We were there to see the sights, but also because Dave Matthews Band was doing a show on Northerly Island. I know…I know… DMB is one of those love ’em or hate ’em bands. Well? We love ’em. We often travel around the US to see them in concert and make a vacation out of wherever they are playing.
So THAT is why we were in Chicago. We really….REALLY…loved it.
REALLY
The only problem was? Those people talk so very fast! 😀
We did the architectural boat tour, visited The Bean, ate at some super yummy restaurants, saw THE GREATEST blues band at a little hole in the wall club, saw Second City, met up for breakfast with some friends from Clickin Moms, and….get this….slept in.
I left my DSLR at home and only used my iPhone during the trip. I also forgot my Olloclip attachment and was kicking myself the entire time. Ah well….back to the basics, I guess.
Anyway, it was fantastic and I loved every.single.second of it. (Especially DMB!)
Here’s my not-so-small iPhone share from the trip. All edited within the iPhone with the VSCO app. (Tilt shift applied within IG)
wow! these are incredible! Totally inspiring <3
These are really great – and with your iPhone, wow! I was wondering how you got the tilt shift look using VSCO? I love that look and haven’t figured out how to do it with my iPhone yet.
These are all so awesome Melissa!!! I’m almost glad you left your dslr at home!
Hi Traci! I actually did the tilt shift inside of instagram. I completely forgot about that! (going to edit my post to say that, thank you!) I did use the tilt shift on ‘Click’, airplane and the bikes on the sidewalk. 🙂
WOW, just WOW! I love your eye so much and you rock that phone! You made my city look amazeballs. (Which isn’t hard, but still…) LOVED this!
Tracy from MN ;). What a wonderful assortment of photos!! You always inspire me! Do you have favorite downloads within VSCO that you tend to go to most often?
Awesome as usual…. immediately downloading VSCO! LOL
Totally loved every single one of them …. I don’t even have an iPhone and I’m terribly inspired. 😉
Absolutely STUNNING images. Just proves that it’s the person behind the lens, not “the camera”. So impressive and inspiring. I underestimate the power of my iPhone. Thanks for sharing!
