our favorite family movies

With the holidays coming up and the kids being out of school, it’s likely that we will watch a couple of movies together. With that, I thought I’d list some of our favorites for you all to check out. Keep in mind, our girls are 13, 11, 8 and 11 months; however, it’s safe to say that I would let kids 7 and up watch these movies.

McFarland USA
I could watch this one every single time it’s on. I actually DO watch it each time it’s on. Definite favorite!

Cinderella
The girls make fun of me because I love this one so much.

Million Dollar Arm
Great movie and has lots of funny parts

42
Great lessons here and we had great discussions afterward.

Moms Night Out
This one makes me giggle just thinking about it.

Rudy
OF COURSE Rudy is included in our favorites! I cry every single time.

The Man From Snowy River
A favorite of Tony’s and the girls, too.

Duma
The true story of a boy and his cheetah

The (new) Karate Kid
You can’t go wrong with the story of a kid who whoops up on his bully. 😉

The Pursuit of Happyness
I can’t even TELL you how much I love this movie. So many lessons here.

Field of Dreams
This one is a bit tricky for younger ones to understand, but still a great one.

Elf
Because OF COURSE Elf is on the list.

The Goonies
If your kids haven’t seen this are you REALLY going about parenting the right way?! I don’t think so.

Akeelah and the Bee
Another no-brainer, I think.

The Sandlot
Haven’t seen this one? You’re killin’ me Smalls.

Annie
We love both versions of Annie, but mostly recently this one.

Sea Biscuit
Another true story with great life lessons.

So, there you go! A list of our favorite family movies. Movies that kids love, but also grown ups will enjoy as well. I’d love to hear some of your favorites in the comments!
